Worst luck with the coffee pots!

We just have the worst luck with coffee pots.  We have a brewing station which, knock on wood, has lasted so far a whole year.  But we drink iced tea and I used another coffee pot to brew it.  Well the burner pad the pot sits on was on melt down and the pot was sticking, wear and tear time to replace.  With caring for dad and hubby, big tea drinkers here, its a gallon of tea  day, so that pot gets a work out no doubt.  I found one on sale for 14.88 and it was a Mr. Coffee one, yesterday when we were out shopping so I grabbed it.  Got it out to run the first pot of water through it before use, and walked a way for a few minutes, came back and it leaked all over the counter.  So cleaned that up, boxed it up and back to the store we went.  I went ahead and got the next model up for 5.00 more.  Luckily this one didn’t leak!  I got two gallons of tea brewed and in the refrigerator cooling as we speak.  Hubby and dad are not big soda drinkers, just tea and water.  So its a staple item.  The brewing makes a good flavor that we are just so use too.  Easier too, less messy.  But I don’t know what it is with coffee pots, we always manage to have to exchange it.  Why do I always grab the one that is gonna leak!
