Sticking with Vista

Well it was like choose the short straw, but after much deliberation and fact finding and resolution seeking options for my Sony Vaio Laptop Computer, I have chosen to keep Vista. It is like making a list of pro’s and con’s. I did not want to loose my built in camera or my wireless card. I have yet had a new to the web cam, but the wireless card is a must! I could not see spending money on a new wireless card. This has been a process for me for the past 8 months. I have many programs that do not seem to be compatible with Vista. But I was having issues with the fact I was unable to install any program I wanted. So after discussing this once again with Sony support, I chose to do a recovery, since I received this computer from Best Buy where the Geek Squad had already worked on the computer and set up things. End result to this? My administrator account was “locked”, it would only allow me to add myself as a new user to the laptop without administrator access. For me this was not acceptable!
Choosing to do a recovery through Windows Vista (using your start menu) continued to block the administrator account. Again I was on with Sony Support to active recovery from another method and continuing from there. I have to tell you how amazed I am at the fact that once this recovery was performed the screens and such I never had received before. I hope hoping now my experience with Vista will have a turn and be a pleasant one from this point on.
