Refusing to even consider it

I tried to sit down and talk to dad tonight about considering getting some life insurance quotes and he is refusing to even consider it.  As his caregiver and just doesn’t understand the burden he his placing on me when that time comes.  You see I went out on a limb for him when he needed a car two and a half years ago.  With his social security income, he didn’t make enough to get a loan in his name.  My hubby wasn’t very happy at the idea of getting the car loan in my name, but let me do it, he felt bad.  My dad made promises at the time that he isn’t keeping.  One was not putting excessive mileage on the car, shoot he has put over 85000 in two and a half years just driving around, nothing out of state either, that’s how much driving he does, he just gets in the car, lies and says he is going to the mall and flipping drives!  Two he said he get insurance to cover the car so if something happen to him, heaven forbid, before the loan was paid, I wouldn’t be stuck with the the payment.  Heck I don’t even see the car lasting, and with all his health issues and the new found lung nodules, I really feel he needs to check into something to cover just the cost of the balance of the loan.  He is refusing because that is going to take away from his get this, GAS money!  I am so upset with him.  I put myself out on a limb for him, what am I going to do with a car with that many miles on it, I mean its not like I will find someone who would just buy the car, with me making no money on it, just basically taking over payments.  I will say this, if this car makes it, which I hope and pray by the grace of God it does, I won’t be getting another loan for another car again!  I can’t put myself in this position again because he didn’t hold up his end of the agreement this time around!
