One…two…three..what a week for losses!

Wow, its been a rough week this week in the area of Entertainment hasn’t it.

First the loss of Ed McMahon, he was an icon wasn’t he to most households, with the famous Johnny Carson, Star  Search and the Bloopers show he did with Dick  Clark,  TV’s Bloopers and Practical Jokes.  These are the things that I remember growing up with.

Then the loss of Farah Fawcett.  Oh yeah her most famous roll of one of Charlie’s Angels.  I remember watching that as a child.  I remember my brother having posters of Farah hanging up in his room, I mean for that generation, what guy didn’t?  I remember her in the moving the Burning Bed about a woman who was abused and found her only way out!   Losing her battle she fought with cancer..so sad…

Then driving home last night in the car, and hearing about Michael Jackson, wow that was the top shocker!  I grew up listening to Michael!  As a teenager I loved his music!!  I have a book and a poster from his thriller days, I still have them in my box of keepsakes!  I had all kinds of “cassette” tapes (no CD’s back then).  Vincent Price voice over with Thriller added to that spooky effect on the tape and the video is ever so popular even with my teens today!  Such talent he had.  Even his sister Janet.  I just can’t imagine the shock that his family is feeling right now.

Sadly enough so much garbage is going around, naturally!  From cruel and mean jokes on Twitter to folks sending text messages.  I just delete them, I don’t find them funny.  The younger generation today don’t know him from the beginning you know?  I know I am 10 years younger than he is, but I always enjoyed his music.  I grew up with it.  I have his I saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus on my Christmas Mix CD that I listen to each and every Christmas!

I will forever remember each of those who entertain us, each in their own special way.
