I survived my 40th Birthday!!

Well what do ya know, I survived my 40th Birthday!  It was a nice day but I will say too I was a little disappointed because this is a special date birthday and I do always go above and beyond for those around me to make their mile stone memory specials. Like for example for my hubby’s when he turned 40, that was the theme.  I contact family and friends and make sure there was 40 birthday cards for him to open up, he has 40 bags of microwave popcorn (favorite snack), 40 cans of beer (from dad), I arranged via his supervisor at work and had a cake with all his coworkers, decorated his truck filled it with 40 balloons, plus had a magnet on the back that said honk, I just turned 40!  (I decorated it while the truck was at work he had no idea about the magnet).  I wrote to his favorite TV shows at the time to get photos of them and they were even autographed, (except Chuck Norris, OMG he wanted $150).  I made him a scrapbook and has a memory container that all the stuff is in (well except the 40 beers lol) in the attic!

I am lucky though, a very special friends sent me cards and a gift box with a gift bag with goodies just for me.  Hey I managed to get through the day with no gag gifts like anti wrinkle cream!  Of course I could probably use it LOL.   I did get to dine out so I am grateful for that plus I ordered myself an ice cream cake, didn’t feel like making my own this year or cooking.  But I can’t say I am not disappointed.  I did cry myself to sleep.  I guess if you knew me more personally and understood how I always do for others and not myself, I always come last, you understand.  But that is what moms do right?

There is one forum I participate at, and they had a when is your birthday thread, I posted my date like others have,  and the moderator will then post a thread on your day to wish you a Happy Birthday!  I guess I wasn’t special enough for that either!  Well you know the old saying, what goes around comes around right?  I keep to myself and I am respectful and always reply back to those being wished a Happy Birthday.  I even chipped in to get something special for someone on their birthday.  But I guess again I got the short end of the stick!  Go figure!  I guess I can’t expect anything different online when that is how it is here at home too.
