Because of people like you? OH yeah that was nice!

My daughter who bought a PS2 less than one year ago, with a warranty (slim model) decided because of the bad memories it brought her (she wasn’t playing it anymore due to the ex boyfriend issue) she wanted to trade it in for another game system. Now since Gamestop has opened which has been years and years, we have always done business with them. Not anymore! My daughter took a huge loss, and yes it was her choice. I am not arguing that point what so ever, the point I am arguing was the trade in value given to her verses what they are going to turn around and sell it for! I decided to post about it via Gamestop’s Facebook and this one guy got down right rude with me. My hubby and I decided to print the entire thread and I am writing a letter and mailing it to their corporate office. Because of people LIKE me who can’t afford new systems! OH that so pissed me off in ways you simply can’t imagine!
My point I was trying to make is my daughter is 20 verses another child who may go in to trade things. They don’t get the value of a dollar but a parent does. They gave her $20 for a system they are going to turn around, box up and sell for $69.99, I mean they didn’t even give her 50%. They didn’t even give her 40%! I think it was ridiculous and the mark up they are turning around to sell it for is wrong. Of course this fool on Facebook assumed it was the original fat boy PS2 and it wasn’t. It was the slim model so he was wrong there. He stated the system was “outdated” Gee if its so “outdated” why is Sony still making games for it like DJ Hero for example! Oh well that is because of “people like me” who can’t afford “new systems”. Let me tell you I have had every system out there, except the Xbox 360 and a PS3 because personally for me no games I would play, or they already have the games for the older system or for my Wii, so I don’t need it. But when you raised not one but THREE teens, you have gaming systems and games that come and go. We are season game buyers and traders. But this was far the worst “deal” which my daughter got and I won’t do business with them anymore.
You see I spent CASH there, I didn’t just buy stuff and charge something I could not afford. I save up for something I want. If the kids wanted better I gave up for them to have better, when they were younger. He was rude and he represents Gamestop? Wow! Nice! It is wrong to give such a low amount like that. Hey I get business is business trust me, but that kind of mark up and very little trade in credit, as I said NEVER this low before and the guy says, I kid you not, it will be even lower the next time I would walk in the door! Wow!
So needless to say I told my son don’t look at me to take him to trade his system in like his sister did hers, he is better off putting it on eBay! I tried to tell her at the store but she was stubborn, she wanted the Nintendo DS “now”, so hard lesson/loss for her. But I won’t go back!
There are plenty of places to buy games at!!
