So disappointed…

December 22, 2007

I am just so disappointed this Christmas Season.  My thing has been baking and making goodies.  I have done is since I was 13 years old.  My mom didn’t do the whole baking and making goodies thing growing up unless it was from out of a box.  She did make peanut butter fudge but that was it.  I have always loved baking.  So I would make up cookies and all that fun stuff.  But this year I am just really bumming.  Since hubby’s hours were unexpectedly cut, I had to cut back from the norm of making goodies.  I usually make 15 different kinds but had cut it back this year to 6 kinds but unfortunately now is only 5 kinds and I am in half tears……  Its not that we eat all these cookies mind you, but I make up trays to give out every year as a present from our home to neighbors, friends of my dad, and family.   I put a lot of time and energy each and every year making them.  Now this year its going to be slim pickin’s and it just makes me feel so very sad.

This time of year I can not handle being at the stores and fighting with crowds.  Even the grocery stores are packed.  So what is the magical ingredient I am missing tonight??  Light Corn Syrup (Karo).  My sugar cookies are really simply the best around and my most favorite cookie and I can’t make them.  I had no idea I was totally out of it.  The local store up the street and the convenient store didn’t have any, so I am just so very disappointed…..

Rules of RE-Gifting!!

December 14, 2007

Sometimes some of the topics you find on a yahoo home page I tell you what.  Today’s that sparked me the Rules of RE-Gifting.  Naturally I had to read them because after all I can honestly say I have never given a gift that was purchased for me ever in life.  Now I have donated things to say Goodwill or Salvation Army but never wrapped and handed out to someone else.

After reveiwing their do’s and their don’t(s) list I can not help but to see one they have missed.  One I feel is very vital in the relationship of in-laws.  Are you ready for it??

Do not re-gift a gift to your daughter in law that she actually gifted to you in the first place!

Yes folks that’s one that should be listed because my mother in law did that to me.  I kid you not, presents we sent her for her birthday, this was last Christmas too, and she gifted it back to me!  I look at my husband and we could not help but laugh and no one knew why!!  This article reminded me of this..so all you mother in laws out there who are reading this, take heed!

How rude can you get?

Today I woke up and decided I was fed up with my hair and decided its time for a perm.  I love lots of bouncy curls.  I let my hair grow out just a bit because I knew I was wanting a perm.  So today I left and headed over to Best Cuts, closest to our home (and a new one).  I been going there the past few months, well since summer actually to get my hair done since they just had opened a location there.

I got there around 11:45, there was one gal ahead of me getting a hair cut, and one lady in rollers.  I signed in and checked off perm.  A few minutes after that another customer came in. There was two gals working.  I was checking out the products and picking the ones I wanted to use with my perm.  I sat down and next thing I know the girls are discussing who is going to do my perm.  Turns out neither wanted to do it.

So I am asked if I had an appointment.  NO, I called yesterday and was told NO appointment was needed to just come in early as possible.  Then she asked me if I wanted to make an appointment, NO I wanted my hair done, I don’t see the problem I was next in line for crying out loud.  There was only one after me, that’s it.  So I said that’s OK you guys can stop arguing over who will do my perm I will go some place else that will be more than happy to take my money!!  I put all the products I picked out on their counter, and walked out.  Let them put them all back!

I was so pissed off, its not even flipping funny.  NEVER ever have I had to make an appointment, even when my hair was much longer than it is now!!  I mean for crying out loud their logo on the damn door said NO APPOINTMENT necessary!!!

I ended up at Famous Hair, which is still owned my the same big corporate building.  I signed in 12:07 and at 12:30 she was washing my hair and getting started on my perm.  I told her about what happen and she could not believe her ears because you don’t need an appointment!!  Get this, these guys were a little busier and they only had two girls working too and they still did my perm!!

So when I got home, you know I jumped on the computer and went to the Regis Corporation and flied a complaint.  I will NEVER go back to the other location EVER again.  I will cut my hair with the flipping lawn mower first.

Best Cuts???  NOT!!!

Under the weather…

December 7, 2007

I am a bit under the weather which is very typical for this time of year.  Always over doing it, but I think most people this time of year do that.  So now I am battling the cold bug, I took my Nyquil last night and that stuff is just nasty OMG.  I woke up at 2:30 wide awake and my heart felt as if it was racing a bit but unsure if that was from the Nyquil or what.

So this weekend I may be lazy and just lay around, have to wait and see.
