FDA sounds alarms on pain mediations!!

The FDA Panel is speaking up about the amount of Acetaminophen a person should take. I think this is a good thing, don’t get me wrong. But its an individual thing. Some people just don’t pay attention to what they are taking ingredients wise, like say if they are taking a cold medication, then take more in a separate tablet or liquid form for another pain. Frankly you have to pay attention!!
Now they are talking about doing away with Vicodin. Now my father, whom I caregiver for, takes this, has taken this for over three years now. He needs for his advanced stages of Rheumatoid Arthritis. Now they prescribe him 240 a month but he only takes three a day! But there are times he is in so much pain he needs to take more. Because he has more than one doctor it can be crazy sometimes because other doctors are the problem. They don’t pay attention the medication list I provide them.
For example he had to go to urgent care for a cold. They had his medication list, its always updated and a copy is in my purse and in his wallet. They told him (and wrote this down in his going home instructions) to take Tylenol for fever in addition to the medications he is already taking. RED FLAG went up for me! no no no! He is already getting a form of that when he is taking the Vicodin. He can’t have both! Its an either or thing! Even his pharmacist backed me up on that! Could you imagine what would of happened had he been on his own?
People need to pay attention!! Some simply can not take Acetaminophen. Its very important to check with your doctor and have blood work done to make sure are able to take it. But to simply state it should just be eliminated, its not just that simple for some who have been taking it in a form like Vicodin, they are going to have to literally be weaned off of it, or your going to toss them into withdrawals and cause other issues!! I just can’t watch my dad go through that.
He goes in to see his RA doctor every 6 weeks and they check his blood and watch the levels involving his liver!
I hope should they decide to do this, they allow time for patients such as my dad who have been on for so long time to be adjusted off of it without causing other issues!!
Scratched, scuffed and mangled!!

I am really bummed that I received my Trace Adkins Membership Packet in the mail with a scratched and scuffed up CD in it! I mean it looks like someone took an SOS pad to it, I kid you not! It’s possible that someone might of drop the CD and it was slid around as they were picking it up and I am shocked as hell they sent it out like this. Its not even readable in my drive!! I sent an email to them and still waiting for a reply. The CD sits in the membership card holder, so I have to keep the membership card with my name and date it expires on it, so if I was to ever receive a meet and greet pass I would have to take it with me. Just when you are as big of fan as I am, excited to join the club, receive it in the mail and get a scratched up CD that doesn’t work, your very disappointed!!
They think they are so slick don’t they LOL

I love those spammers that come to our blogs, each time using a different name but their picture and email address doesn’t change. Cracks me up! I laugh every day! Sometimes the ones that just say hey great post I will be back I will approve just so I can see if the name changes from Betty to June, better yet their picture is of a girl and they use a guy name. Oh it slays me!
Well hubby had some issues at the beginning of the week with his stomach and some pains. I think he over ate, with us going to a concert and then being Father’s Day he wanted a steak, he doesn’t realize that since he cut back on his portions since he started his diet, his stomach adjusts too. He seems to be stuck at a certain weight. Now that the heat of the summer is here and no air conditioning being turned on at work, he is going to be sweating more, I told him he needs to drink more water now, not fluids with sugars in it, like sweet tea. I bought him these 64oz cups that have an insert that you freeze so it would keep his water colder longer for him, that he fills up with Iced Tea here at home. I said to him do you realize how many calories that is? I think he finally got it and this week he was drinking lots of water at work instead of the tea! That was a step in the right direction. I got up this morning early, couldn’t sleep and took a cool bath to start my day and come out and see him reading a fat burner review and he thinks this is what he needs, a fat burner. How about adding some exercise to your routine in the day there dude? I don’t care how many supplements a person takes, you have to get up and move too!
I realize with heat at work it drains you and makes you tired, when he comes home from work he needs to relax a while, I get that, but after dinner and when his food as settled before he showers why can’t we go for a bike ride? Walks? Anything? Get up and move. I don’t count mowing the grass just once a week. Sure its more activity than in the winter but he has to motivate himself. I am running out of idea’s here!!
One…two…three..what a week for losses!

Wow, its been a rough week this week in the area of Entertainment hasn’t it.
First the loss of Ed McMahon, he was an icon wasn’t he to most households, with the famous Johnny Carson, Star Search and the Bloopers show he did with Dick Clark, TV’s Bloopers and Practical Jokes. These are the things that I remember growing up with.
Then the loss of Farah Fawcett. Oh yeah her most famous roll of one of Charlie’s Angels. I remember watching that as a child. I remember my brother having posters of Farah hanging up in his room, I mean for that generation, what guy didn’t? I remember her in the moving the Burning Bed about a woman who was abused and found her only way out! Losing her battle she fought with cancer..so sad…
Then driving home last night in the car, and hearing about Michael Jackson, wow that was the top shocker! I grew up listening to Michael! As a teenager I loved his music!! I have a book and a poster from his thriller days, I still have them in my box of keepsakes! I had all kinds of “cassette” tapes (no CD’s back then). Vincent Price voice over with Thriller added to that spooky effect on the tape and the video is ever so popular even with my teens today! Such talent he had. Even his sister Janet. I just can’t imagine the shock that his family is feeling right now.
Sadly enough so much garbage is going around, naturally! From cruel and mean jokes on Twitter to folks sending text messages. I just delete them, I don’t find them funny. The younger generation today don’t know him from the beginning you know? I know I am 10 years younger than he is, but I always enjoyed his music. I grew up with it. I have his I saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus on my Christmas Mix CD that I listen to each and every Christmas!
I will forever remember each of those who entertain us, each in their own special way.
Wow, some just go way too far

Some just go way too far with some things. You know, it totally blows the mind how some folks out there make assumptions about something. Its obvious they need more in their life apparently. I am not going to feed into it. But at the heat of the moment it sure can tick you off.
I had a very hectic and busy today. But it was nice for the warmth of the sun to be out for the first time this month!! I think this has been the warmest day all month!! Our flowers that we planted way back in April are finally taking off! I see ONE starting to bloom. Oh I can’t wait for the rest to start to open and bloom and I can take some pictures of our hard work!
I have to pick up my daughter from work tonight. I didn’t get any work on the computer done like I planned today, tomorrow I am hoping to go for a bike ride with my son! Early in the morning before it gets too hot!!
